Band Uniform Components and Accessories
The Music Program supplies most of the band uniform components and accessories. However, some items are not included which the students will need to provide/purchase for themselves as listed below:
All MBCG Students
Program t-shirts are required for all students of Instrumental Music, to be worn during program events as designated by the Music Director. New students will receive a Music Program t-shirt at no cost. For returning students who no longer have their program t-shirts, replacement shirts will be available for purchase.
Insulated water container – All students are responsible for bringing their own water to maintain proper hydration. It is recommended that students obtain a 1-gallon insulated water container for their use throughout Band Camp and the marching season. Sharing is not allowed. Students will come to all marching rehearsals and performances with their water containers already prepared and filled. Make sure to label your water container with your name.
Color Guard only:
Color Guard costumes are not provided by the program and must be purchased by the students.
Instrumentalists only:
Gloves – required for all instrumentalists except Drumline and Pit sections. Cost will be announced before uniform fitting days. Please bring cash or check during uniform fitting.
Marching shoes aka “Dinkles” – We have a limited inventory of loaner Dinkles which are assigned by grade seniority, i.e., seniors get fitted first, then juniors on down. Some students may need to purchase their own marching shoes if our inventory is all allocated or if we don’t have the student’s size. Students also have the option of purchasing new shoes should they desire. The costs to purchase shoes will be announced before uniform fitting days.
NOTE: Gloves and marching shoes are purchased in bulk by the Music Boosters to provide them to students at discounted costs. Cash or check (payable to LHHS Instrumental Music Boosters) is accepted.
Black socks – must be worn with the band uniform at all performances. The socks must be plain (no design) all-black color, and of sufficient length so that no skin between the shoe and pant hem is visible. Booties are not allowed.
