Greetings LHHS Music Families,
Thank you for being part of the LHHS Music Family and supporting our students in the program. Whether your student is in Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Color Guard/Winter Guard, Drumline/Indoor Percussion, it’s a great learning experience for them! Not only are they learning music, but they are also learning lessons that will help them to succeed in life.
You’ve heard it before, but they can’t do it without our support. Although fundraisers, such as the Mattress Sale last year and the 4th of July event this year have raised $ 4100, the bulk of Music Booster’s funding still comes from parents like you! Music Boosters is a 501(c3) organization, and your contribution may be tax deductible.
The suggested fair share contributions* for the 2018-19 ensembles are:
- Marching Band/Color Guard $400 (includes trip to State Finals in Bakersfield, CA)
- Symphonic/Wind Ensemble $150
- Orchestra $175
- Winter Guard $350
- Drumline $300
- Jazz $100
*Should you wish to contribute the entire amount that covers your child’s participation in the 2018-19 ensemble(s) by September 15, please deduct *10% off of the total. Please always include the parent name, student name, and ensemble(s) on any transaction made with the Boosters.
Morever, those who pay their Fair Share Contribution by Monday, October 22 will receive 5 free raffle tickets for a chance to win tickets to the Pacific Symphony!
Even if you’re not in a position to contribute the entire amount today, you can pay in installments.
Payments can be made as follows:
- By check (your student can drop it off in the Band Room locked mailbox). Please include the parent name, student name and ensemble(s) on any transaction with the Boosters.
- Using Paypal through your account
- Using our website lhhsmusic.org. Scroll down to the bottom of the web page and click DONATE NOW.
Where does the money go? Your yearly fair share contribution goes directly into supporting your student’s music education and musical experience. The yearly contribution goes to providing music, replacing broken equipment, transportation costs, and enabling our students to attend competitions and festivals where they can perform their music at the highest level for a wider audience. In short, again it goes directly to supporting your student’s music experience at Laguna Hills High School. The yearly contribution does not go into a general pot of money but stays with your student’s music ensemble.
Currently, we need to sign up and register for our events for the school year. Unfortunately, if funds are insufficient, those activities will be in jeopardy. While this would never be our desire, it could be our reality. While this situation could affect any of our beloved programs, for example, the Marching Band’s fall trip to Championships in Bakersfield or professional coaching for any of the ensembles is in jeopardy of cancellation.
